Early Childhood Development Center

The College of Charleston offers a unique experience for young children and its own students at the N.E. Miles Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC). Since the center’s founding under President Theodore Stern in 1974, our nationally accredited program has served as the demonstration program and laboratory school for the College as part of the School of Education, Health, and Human Performance. ECDC Celebrates 40th Anniversary in 2014-2015!

We are planning several events over the course of the 2014-2015 year to commemorate the founding of our program in 1974, including:

  • Friday, October 3, 2014    4-7:30PM     Drop-in Homecoming Party @ ECDC - All alumni, families, friends invited!!!
  • Wednesdays October 22, January 22, and April 15 - Three-part film/discussion series on the value & dimensions of play
  • Research initiative to compile longitudinal data on ECDC students
