Dinosaurs Help Scene One The teacher sits in her rocking chair, reading a story to the class, who is sitting on the floor at her feet. Narrator: Once upon a time in dinosaur land, there was a family of gentle dinosaurs. There was a stegosaurus mother and her babies, a triceratops, two parasaurolophuses, and a corithisaurus. In dinosaur land, there were also some dinosaurs that were not so gentle, like the dreaded T-rex. The T-rexes were hungry and they were looking for lunch. The scene fades out as the camera zooms toward the face of one of the children day-dreaming. Scene Two Narrator: Two T-rexes walking across the desert looking for food. They roar! Scene Three The dinosaur family is in its nest. The characters curl up like they are in eggs and slowly begin to hatch. All the dinosaurs make dinosaur noises. Narrator: There are many gentle dinosaurs in dinosaur land. Look, two stegosaurus babies are just being born! The dinosaur babies are born and then a mother dinosaur says to a corythisaurus, Parosaurolophus: The t-rex is coming. [roaring off stage] Gentle Dinosaurs: "Hide! Hide!" Scene Four Narrator: Meanwhile, in 2006, a paleontologist is digging for dinosaur bones, when he comes across something curious. Paleontologist: What's this? He pushes the button and begins to spin around Scene Five The paleontologist and the dinosaurs are in the dinosaur nest. The dinos surround the paleontologist. Narrator: The paleontologist is taken back in time to dinosaur land, where he finds himself surrounded by the gentle dinosaur family. Paleontologist: Where am I? Stegosaurus: You're in dinosaur time. Paleontologist: How did I get here? Triceratops: You pressed the time machine button. Paleontologist: Wow! Are you real live dinosaurs? Stegosaurus: Of course we're live dinosaurs! Dinos: We need your help, because the t-rex is coming to eat us. The t-rex's roar off stage and the dinosaurs run and hide before the t-rexes arrive. T-rex's: "I'm going to eat you for your dinner?" Scene Six Two Pegasus unicorns arrive on stage. They exchange wings and horns and then fly around. Suddenly they see that the dinosaurs are in trouble and they fly down to help them. Narrator: While the gentle dinosaurs and the paleontologist hid from the fierce t-rex, two Pegasus unicorns were flying around in the sky. They decide to trade wings and horns. Pegasus unicorns trade wings and horns. Narrator: The Pegasus unicorns see that the gentle dinosaurs are in trouble and they come to help. Pegasus Unicorns: Hey, let's help the dinosaurs. Scene Seven Narrator: The gentle dinosaurs were in trouble. The t-rex has found the dinosaurs and cornered the corythisaurus. He scratches the corythosaurus and is about to eat him when the Pegasus unicorns come down to help. Pegasus Unicorns: We have an idea. You can use the time machine to take the t-rex back with you! Narrator: Just before the t-rexs can eat the corythisaurus, the paleontologist rushes over and pushes the button on the time machine. Everyone spins around and ends up back in 2006. Scene Eight All the characters lie on the floor next to the time machine. Slowly, the gentle dinosaurs get up and walk around. Narrator: The gentle dinosaurs and the Pegasus unicorns wake up in 2006, and they decide to trap the t-rexes. They go into a near-by cave and put out candy that looks like dinosaur meat. The t-rexes are allergic to candy, and whenever they eat it, they fall asleep. As the gentle dinosaurs are leaving the cave, they hear the t-rexes wake up. The t-rexes roar and everyone runs to hide. T-rexs: "I smell dinosaur meat" The t-rexes go to the cave and eat the dinosaur candy and fall asleep. Narrator: They t-rexes sleep for a night and a day. Scene Nine Narrator: The gentle dinosaurs and the paleontologist slowly creep up on the two t-rexes. They take their nets and throw them over the t-rexes, trapping them. They take their captives to the Natural History Museum where they are placed in a cage for everyone to see. Scene Ten Narrator: Now that the problem had been solved, it was time for the gentle dinosaurs to go home. Paleontologist: I want you to take the time machine and go back to the past so you can live your lives. Dinosaurs: Thank you for helping us. Now we will be safe. Narrator: The paleontologist pushes the button and the dinosaurs spin back into the past. They are happy to be back in dinosaur land. Scene Eleven The teacher sits in her rocking chair, reading a story to the class, who is sitting on the floor at her feet. Narrator: The gentle dinosaurs were finally safe back in dinosaur land. The paleontologist had become the most famous paleontologist in the world. As the paleontologist thinks back on the day he found that time machine, he smiles and wonders how his gentle dinosaur friends are. THE END.
